The XI meeting of the CSTO Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation will be held on October 3, 2013 in Yerevan
CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha will participate and speak at the XI meeting of the Interstate Commission for Military Economic Cooperation (ICMEC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which will be held on October 3, 2013 in the capital of the Republic of Armenia, Yerevan.
On the eve of the ICBEC meeting, on October 1 and 2 of this year. The members of the Working Group of Experts at the MKVEC Chairman and the heads of the national parts of the Business Council at the MKVES met to coordinate the documents on the issues submitted to the Commission.
The MKVES is to elect a new chairman in connection with the expiration of the three-year term of office of the current chairman - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Igor Karavaev. Issues regarding the implementation by the Commission of decisions of statutory bodies and the session of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO on September 23, 2013 in Sochi, during which decisions were made to provide military-technical assistance to the Border Troops of Tajikistan to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border, will be considered.
Also on the agenda is the draft List of Enterprises and Organizations, the specialization of which should be preserved in the interests of the military-economic cooperation of the CSTO member states, the continuation of work on the coordination of the draft Program of the military-economic cooperation of the CSTO member states for the period up to 2015 and further. The CIECS will consider further improvement of the mechanism for the supply of military products under the terms of the Agreement on the basic principles of military-technical cooperation between the states parties to the Collective Security Treaty to simplify it, the draft Regulation on the Interstate Center for Cataloging Supplies of the Armed Forces of the CSTO Member States Council at MKVES.
The CSTO Secretariat noted the importance of strengthening international cooperation in the military-economic sphere as a tool for high-tech development of enterprises of the CSTO defense-industrial complexes,
Much attention is paid to the role of standardization of defense products in ensuring the competitiveness of the military industry of the CSTO member states, the Interstate system for cataloging the supplies of the armed forces in the CSTO format and increasing the dynamics of the practical work of the Business Council at the ICELP.
